In the small town of Banshee, Pennsylvania, Amish country becomes the hiding place for an enigmatic ex-con with unfinished business. After assuming the identity of a murdered sheriff, he takes control of the badge and enforces his own rough version of justice, even as he quietly works on plans that serve his personal interests.
