White Water

In segregated Opelika, Alabama, in 1963, a 7-year-old Black boy becomes consumed by a forbidden curiosity: what the water tastes like from the whites-only drinking fountain. Surrounded by the rules and dangers of Jim Crow, he fixes on doing what everyone around him knows is unthinkable, setting his young determination against a world built to keep him in his place.
