In Washington, D.C., 14-year-old Lucas has already been pulled into gang life, but he is determined to keep his 10-year-old brother from following the same path. With the pressures of the neighborhood closing in, the arrival of an Afghanistan war veteran creates a possible opening for Lucas to protect his brother and look for a way out of the life he has been drawn into.
