Lauren and Tom are a young couple whose relationship is thrown into uncertainty when the idea of marriage enters their lives. As Lauren asks Tom to marry her, she also begins an affair with her boss and rents a bachelor apartment, pulling herself in conflicting directions. What should be a step toward commitment instead threatens to expose the distance between them and break them apart.
