A New York playwright who once seemed poised for success finds herself struggling with the uncomfortable slide from promising talent to yesterday’s news. Desperate to win back her ex, she stages a suicide attempt, but the plan backfires and leaves her in the custody of her gambling-addict mother. Forced into an awkward new situation, she has to face the mess her life has become.
